Lexington ES BUG Party

The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club recognized 116 third graders in Scott County for making the BUG Honor Roll the end of the second grading period.  To make the BUG Honor Roll (Bring Up Grades) the students must improve at least one grade in at least one subject and not go down in any other subjects.  Students earning this recognition are provided a party, a certificate identifying the subject(s) they improved, snacks, prizes and a BUG T-Shirt the first time they make the BUG Honor RollThis grading period, fourteen students at Lexington Elementary School improved their gradesBUG Honor Roll students in Ms Brunner’s class are Shawn Basham, Bryce Bush, Addison Eldridge, Lane Harris, Veronica Law, Katey Middleton, Tyson Mulvaney, Gavin South and Owyn SouthBUG Honor Roll students in Ms Hale’s class are Macy Beauchamp, Braden Cox, Ryan Hiler, Cheyenne Ward and Dallas Yates.  Congratulations to each of these students for their hard work and success this grading period.  The BUG Program is made possible by the sponsorship of Austin Tri Hawk who also provided the snacks.   BUG is an academic incentive program provided by the Kiwanis Club in partnership with Scott County School Districts 1 &  2.

Lee Anna Willett and the LES K-Kids rang the Salvation Army bell for Clearinghouse today after school.  About ten of the  K-Kids volunteered and did a great job ringing the bell.
So far this Christmas season, the SHS Key Club, SMS Builders Club and LES K-Kids have helped ring the bell!

Lexington Elementary School K-Kids Ceremony

The LES K-Kids conducted a ceremony last night to install their new officers and induct their new members. Thank you to all our Kiwanis members who attended: Don & Millie Cooper, Nick and Bunny South, Lee Anna Willett (SCSD2), Kara Dulaney (SCSD2), Chuck Rose (SCSD2), Marc Slaton (SCSD2), and Al Riggle. Also thank you to President Sarah Everett from the SMS Builders Club and Haley Bryant from the SHS Key Club for installing the new officers. Thanks to Olivia Watson, Alexis Campbell, Justice Gabbard and Rachel Pelfrey for attending and providing refreshments. Thanks to the Kiwanis members for providing refreshments.

We will be hosting the VFES K-Kids ceremony after Thanksgiving.
