Jason Jackson presents the Kiwanis traveling plaque to the Austin High School baseball team after their 5-0 win over Scottsburg High this year. This plaque has been awarded to the winner of the Austin vs Scottsburg game for eighteen years and promotes high school baseball and good sportsmanship! Congratulations to the Austin Eagles for their victory this year! Over the years, several baseball players from Scott County have gone on to play collegiate baseball.
The Scott County Partnership is seeking local businesspersons that would come share details of their career with students. Career Day is a program that assists students in learning about different career opportunities that teens may be interested in pursuing. Austin High School Career Day will be held April 5th from 8:00-11:00 AM
If students can get a vision and plan for their future it not only serves them in getting headed in the right direction, but also draws them away from risky behaviors such as drug and alcohol abuse.

The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club presented $800 in scholarship awards to Madyson White, Tanner Craig and Josiah Croasdell at their dinner meeting at The Kithen on The Square.Pictured with the students are Kiwanians Maryrose McWhirter and Darryl Smith. Madyson is a graduate of Austin High School and will be attending Indiana University to study Resource Management and Marketing; Tanner is a graduate of Austin High School and will be attending Evansville University to study Mechanical Engineering; and Josiah is a graduate of Scottsburg High School and will be attending Taylor University to study Physics and Engineering.Congratulations to these outstanding students and best wishes as they continue their studies.
The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club recently presented a $300 Scholarship to Alexa Parker at a recent dinner/meeting at The Kitchen on The Square in Scottsburg. Alexa is a graduate of Austin High School and will be attending college at IUPUI this fall. Kiwanis President Terry Davis is pictured presenting the scholarship to Alexis. The KIwanis congratulated Alexa and wished her the best in her studies.
