The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club recognized forty-six students at Austin Elementary School for making the BUG Honor Roll the third grading period.  BUG (Bring Up Grades) is a Kiwanis signature program that provides incentives to third graders to bring up their grades.  To make the BUG Honor Roll, a student must improve at least one grade in at least one subject and not go down in any other subjects.  BUG Honor Roll students receive a BUG Certificate identifying what they improved, a BUG T- Shirt the first time they make the BUG Honor Roll, prizes and snacks.  This grading period it was an ice cream partyBUG Honor Roll students in Mr Staschke’s class are Peyton Reed, Cody Bowling, Daylon Nease, Madyson Mosier, Bailey Prather, Brooklynn White, Brylee Haney, Lavayia Caudill, Landin Bastin, Trenton Colwell, Gabriella Hubbard, Brianna Rodriguez, Leena Acuna, Magdalyn Billingsley and Kendra Gates.  BUG Honor Roll students in Ms Norton’s class are Cale LaMaster, Christopher  Brown, Ellie Groenenboom, Bethany Hurtt, Nevaeh Johnson and Sadie Roth.  BUG Honor Roll students in Ms Stagnolia’s class are Mya Holder, Ivan Lehman, Kayanna Hiler, Emma Ousley, Gavin Richey, Alyssa Hutchison, Kaitlyn Johnson, Breeleigh Henson, Lorelai Smith, Alisson Mullen, Kaydance Jones, Travis Gutowski and Ayden Johnson.  BUG Honor Roll students in Mr Carr’s class are Gabriel Bass, Caitlyn Bowling, Nevaeh Caudill, Braying Coomer, Elizabeth Craft, Angelina Fields, Julia Harris, John Hulscopple, Malaki King, Arabella Napier, Lucas Lewis and Abigail WigginsCongratulations to these outstanding students.  BUG would not be possible without the support of our Kiwanis Corporate member sponsor, Austin Tri Hawk

Volunteers needed for AES Life Skills

Good afternoon,

We are currently looking for volunteers to teach the Life Skills program at Austin Elementary School. The volunteer would donate their time to teach one lesson to all third, fourth and fifth graders (unless teaching decision making or dealing with stress, which there would be a modified schedule for one day only). We are hoping to start the program in two weeks. You can pick any two days listed during the week you are available, unless otherwise noted.

Please share with anyone else you think may be interested! If you are available, please let me know and I will provide you with more details!

Here are the dates available for the 2019 lessons:
