The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club recognized twenty-three third graders at Johnson Elementary School for making the BUG Honor Roll the third grading period. BUG which stands for Bring Up Grades is a Kiwanis signature program to provide incentives to students to improve their grades. To make the BUG Honor Roll a student must improve at least one grade in at least one subject and not go down in any other subjects. BUG Honor Roll students receive a party with snacks, prizes, a certificate identifying the subject(s) they improved and a BUG T-Shirt the first time they make the BUG Honor Roll. Of the twenty-three students recognized for bringing up their grades this grading period, eighteen made the BUG Honor Roll for the first time. BUG Honor Roll students in Ms Meadow’s class are Bryan Wilson, Elijah Swafford, Braylen Marcille, Molly Jones, Garrett Couch, Makayla Baker, Arianna King, Lucas Miller and Cohen Long. BUG Honor Roll students in Ms Rose’s class are Ayden Acahua, Jayden Barger, Aven Broadus, Beau Carter, Braylee Castillo, Alicyn Glenn, Shylah Hill, Mady Lainhart, Levi Lewis, Landon Newton, Brooklin Rockey, Austin Sandlin, Madison Spencer and Kendra Thompson. Snacks were provided by Kiwanian Doris Marcum. The BUG Program is made possible by the generous support of Kiwanis Corporate Member Austin Tri Hawk. The Kiwanis believe the best way to improve a community is to improve the kids in the community. Congratulations to these outstanding students!
