Kiwanis Weekly Meeting Minutes 6 Apr 20171

1.  The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club partnered with Kiwanis International and national non-profit to conduct a Pilot Vision Screening Project at Scott County School District 2 this week.  The screening was held at Scottsburg High School for tenth graders where 166 students were screened identifying 19 students who need some kind of corrective measures.  More to come as we continue to work with Kiwanis International on this initiative.  Special thanks to Kiwanian Doris Marcum for going through the on-line training and testing to be certified and to Corporate Kiwanian Heather Crites for organizing the screening at SHS.  Darryl Smith, Terry Davis, Jack McWhirter also assisted with the screening
2.  President Terry Davis announced last night that the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club Annual Meeting to elect our Officers and Board Directors for 2017-19 will be held at our meeting on 27 Apr.  Please attend so we have a good showing for the elections.  The slate of candidates are below:
President:  Al Riggle
President Elect:  Brent Inman
Secretary:  Jack McWhirter
Treasurer:  Bunny South
Director:  Nick South
Director:  Dave Church

3.  We will perform our annual spring cleanup and service project at the CASA House tomorrow, 8 Apr from 8:00-12:00.  We will be painting one room, moving some items out of the attic to the garage, pruning roses, mulching flower beds and doing general spring cleanup.  The SMS Builder Club and the AHS Key Club plan on helping.  Please come by to assist if you have some time Saturday morning.  We could use a few  more volunteers.
Thanks much!
Al
