Justin Holland recently spoke at the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club dinner/meeting at The Kitchen.  Justin is the owner and operator of Westwood Golf Course and is a Corporate Member of the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club.  Justin started off by saying how appreciative he was to be a member of the Scottsburg Kiwanis Club.  He was thankful for all the things we do for kids in Scott County and looks forward to being a part of the programs and projects we sponsor.  Justin is from Scott County originally and graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1992.  He played golf in high school and represented Scottsburg in the Finals of the Indiana State Championship.  After school he went to work for the PGA in the TPC network.  He learned how to work on golf courses and learned the golf business.  Justin bought Westwood in June 2016.  He has been a PGA member since 2001 and looks forward to bringing his experience to Westwood Golf Course.  He was very appreciative of the outstanding support he’s received from the community and looks forward to bringing in new opportunities for golf in Scott County.  He’s in the process of adding an indoor golf simulator so the avid golfers can play during the often severe winter weather in Indiana.  He hopes to have it in by the end of March.  He enjoys working with kids at the high school to develop golf programs.  He wants to give back to the kids in the community and give some of them the opportunity for golf scholarships.  Justin has been married for thirteen years and has a twelve year old daughter.  He currently lives in Corydon and is trying to sell his home to move here.  Justin wants to increase the profit in the golf course by increasing quantity, not increasing fees and costs.  He feels the golf course serves a great community role in fundraising with golf scrambles for various youth programs and he wants to continue and develop these opportunities.  The members thanked Justin for his presentation and look forward to working with him on projects such as the Annual Kiwanis Golf Scramble to raise money for scholarships.
