Scott County Partnership Seeks Adult Mentors for High School Circles
SCOTTSBURG, Ind.—The Scott County Partnership is currently recruiting adult volunteers to mentor Scott County high school students for a “High School Circles Program”.
High School Circles helps students by giving them encouragement and assisting them in setting goals for their future, especially after graduation. “One of the most effective prevention strategies a community can institute is having adult role models mentor its youth,” claims Lori Croasdell, Coordinator for CEASe of Scott County.
Cindy Watts, high school guidance counselor at Austin applauds the program saying, “The students who participated in Circles last year loved that extra attention and guidance they received to help them move forward and reach their goals. The students looked forward to their weekly meetings with Ace and LeAnn. The more we can connect them with the community and resources now, the more involved and successful they can be when they leave us. I am very thankful we were able to partner with The Scott County Partnership to offer this wonderful program to our students.”
The high school Circles groups will meet every Thursday at the following times: Scottsburg High School–10:32 to 10:58 am, and Austin High School–11:45 am to 12:35 pm.
Those interested in volunteering their time for this worthy cause should contact Ace Woodson at 812.722.7708 or email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. This program starts this month.
