Brandy Blank and Dawn Sanders, the Outreach and Enrollment Specialists for Covering Kids and Families (CKF) of Scott County, are helping our county’s families enroll in health insurance coverage. They also help advise families on how to access, use and keep their health coverage.
Covering Kids & Families is a non-profit organization whose goal is assisting individuals in obtaining health insurance, including Medicaid, HIP 2.0 and Marketplace. They offer free assistance in enrolling individuals in the program that best fits their needs. What is unique about CKF is they help with the enrollment process AND they also assist the person after they have been enrolled with any problems or changes that need to be made.
They also offer assistance to anyone who currently has a Medicaid, HIP 2.0, or Marketplace plan and has questions or concerns with their coverage. Their goal is to see that every individual in Scott County has obtained and understands their health insurance coverage.
Scott County is greatly benefitting by having two advocates assisting with navigating the health insurance system. Our citizens are receiving one-on-one assistance in obtaining the health coverage they need, which allows them to see a medical provider for preventative medical care or health issues, and insures they can fill their prescriptions. They have already assisted 77 uninsured Scott County families in getting coverage.
For more information on enrollment, you may contact them at 812-752-7365. They are located at the Lifelong Learning Center, 1092 W. Community Way Scottsburg, IN 47170.
