Scott County Public Transportation

We all know that transportation is a problems for many people in Scott County. The Get Healthy Scott County coalition has been working with the Southern Indiana Transit System to design a route that is more workable for most Scott County citizens who need transportation. The route developed was based upon surveys and focus groups of potential riders over a 9 month period.
The route is listed below. Our challenge now is getting the “word” out to folks who could use this bus and to help allay the fears that involve learning a new thing like taking a bus.
So, in as much as you may have contact with folk who could use this transportation system, please encourage, ride with, purchase a ticket and give it away, etc., to help make this system successful.
Currently, the routes ride only on Wednesdays and Fridays. IF the ridership picks up, they will expand the routes to more days of the week. Our goal is, of course, to have the route happening five days a week.
Thank you for your help!

POCKET CARDS TO COME TO SHARE WITH YOUR CLIENTS!

Thanks to the hard work of the Get Healthy Scott County Coalition AND the Southern Indiana Transit System, here is the official new public transportation route for Scott County!

This route runs every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. We cannot add more days / hours until the route is utilized to the fullest on the current schedule.

We hope that many of you will promote this new route with your clients and share with any populations you serve. We also expect many of you to trial the route yourself or ride along with a client. As you get first-hand experience with the route, please record any feedback and be prepared to share your feedback at future GHSC Coalition meetings.
