The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club and Vienna Finley Elementary School hosted a charter ceremony for the Kiwanis Kids Club on 19 February 2016. Kiwanis Kids or K-Kids, is a signature Kiwanis Service Leadership Program designed to develop leadership and character in club members through the vehicle of community service. Mrs Vanessa McClary, former Kiwanis Indiana District Governor and current District Administrator for K-Kids helped install the charter officers: Abby Masterson, President; Haylie Smith, Vice President; Brentley Spaw, Treasurer. Charter members are Draven Lamb, Ella Rahe, Haylie Smith, Ashley Kiefer, Ella Siekman, Bryanne Paris, Isabella Mauk, Lucas Toppe, Karson Higdon, Jackson Taylor, Dawson Richey, Isaac Asdell, Brentley Spaw, Victoria McNeely, Gabe Hines, Maecy Ritchison, Nate Bannerman, Peyton Preston, Brindley Herp, Adrianna Mayo, Conner Taylor, Molly Mauk, Abby Masterson, Brooklyn Hunley, Sydney Craig, Haley Thomas, Abbey Martin, Taylor Towne, Gracie Owens, Alyssa Williams, Kaydee Unger, Hannah Thomas, Bryton Robbins, Tucker Adams, Aaron Stidam, Christi Patterson, Caleb King, Arlie Smith, Skyler Womick, Kadin Richardson, Austin Banks, Savannah Holcomb and Chloe Norton. The K-Kids is an international organization for elementary school students. These students develop and carry out service projects for their school and community. They also participate in fundraising projects and use the money earned to support local charities or school concerns. The K-Kids elect their own officers, conduct regular meetings, and establish their own committees. Projects suggested by members are conducted under the supervision and cooperation of the faculty advisor, school administrator and sponsoring Kiwanis Club. The K-Kids objectives are to provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community, to develop leadership potential, to foster development of a strong moral character, and to encourage loyalty to school, community and nation.The core values are Character Building, Leadership, Inclusiveness and Caring. The faculty advisors are Mrs Katie Robbins-Sawin and Mrs Tammy Staser and the Kiwanis advisors are Al Riggle and Eric Mullins.
