The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club hosted a BUG celebration at Lexington ES for fourteen third graders in Mrs Shuler’s class who made the BUG Honor Roll for the first grading period. BUG Honor Roll students are Dylan Best, Breonna Carter, Tanner Cheek, Jack Cochran, Kenzie Goode, Keirstin James, McKinzi LaFever, Ethan Leedy, Katie Montgomery, Jaden Nunley-Sanders, Jaylynn Petty, Hitomi Roll, Cole Salkeld and Harmony Tankersley. BUG (Bringing Up Grades) is a Kiwanis signature program designed to provide incentives to third graders to improve their grades. Each grading period the Kiwanis provide a party for students who improve at least one grade in at least one subject and don’t go down in any other subjects. Students receive a certificate identifying the subject they improved, snacks, prizes and a BUG T-shirt the first time they make the BUG Honor Roll. Thirty-three students at Lexington ES made the BUG Honor Roll the first grading period. This is the fifth year Lexington ES has partnered with the Kiwanis to host the BUG Program. The BUG Program is made possible with the support of our sponsors, the Youth Grantmaking Council who provided T-shirts and Millie Cooper who provided cookies.
