The Scottsburg Kiwanis Club recognized nineteen students in Mrs Hale’s third grade class at Lexington ES for making the BUG Honor Roll the first grading period. Making the BUG Honor Roll were: Jayleigh Moore, Cayleigh Turner, Hannah Tatlock, Whittney Smith, Grant McGlothlin, Bryson Mata, Joshua Lainhart, Clayton Koch, Bailey Keown, Alysha Johnson, Allyssa Hanger, Colby Hall, Alex Dunn, Isabella Cox, Kyleigh Clements, Austin Chapman, Kali Casey, Bailee Bush and Caden Barger. BUG is a Kiwanis signature program which provides incentives to third graders to improve their grades. Students must improve at least one grade in at least one subject and not go down in any others to make the Bringing Up Grades (BUG) Honor Roll. These students earn a BUG T-Shirt, certificate identifying what subject they improved, snacks and prizes at a party thrown by the Kiwanis Club. The party is provided each grading period for students who make the BUG Honor Roll. This is the fifth year Lexington ES has partnered with the Kiwanis in the BUG Program. The BUG Program would not be possible without the support of the Youth Grantmaking Council for the t-shirts and Millie Cooper for the cookies.
